Make an ElevenLabs pickup list before regenerating a whole narration

Use ElevenLabs for a short pickup only after confirming the intended wording and pronunciation; check the account's current usage rules.

When a short narration mispronounces two words, first identify those exact lines. Regenerating the whole script can make review harder: a previously good sentence may now sound different. A pickup list keeps the correction, its context and the accepted take together.

ElevenLabs presents text-to-speech tools on its current product page. This guide proposes an editing method around generated narration; it does not claim a particular pronunciation control, model behaviour or successful Thai result. ElevenLabs product information

Start with a script you control

Use a fictional 30-second welcome for a community workshop. Give each sentence an ID: L01 for the welcome, L02 for the room, L03 for the session time and L04 for the help desk. Use a permitted voice and an original script. Do not imitate a real person's identity to make the recording sound more authoritative.

Keep a plain-text source and a separate pronunciation note. If a name has an agreed pronunciation, record it in words the reviewer understands. Do not silently replace the spelling in the displayed transcript just because a phonetic spelling helps the audio experiment.

Build a pickup sheet

Line What the listener heard Required meaning Next experiment
L02 The room name sounds ambiguous Room A, not Room Eight Try a more explicit phrase
L03 Two numbers run together Separate the start time from the date Rewrite the sentence with a pause in meaning
L04 Help-desk instruction is rushed Listener can identify whom to ask Shorten the sentence

This is a fictional log, not measured ElevenLabs performance. The useful distinction is between “wrong fact,” “unclear pronunciation” and “delivery preference.” Fix the facts before polishing the delivery.

Ask for bounded script alternatives

Suggest three spoken versions of line L03:
"The session starts at 10:30 on September 21."
Keep the time and date identical. Do not add an ending time.
Make each version easy to read aloud.
Return only L03 alternatives and identify any meaning change.

You can write these alternatives manually. “On September twenty-first, we begin at ten thirty” preserves the information in this sample. The actual locale and intended pronunciation still need a listener's approval.

Review one controlled change at a time

  1. Save the original generation with its script, voice/model choice and settings visible in your account.
  2. Mark the exact time span of each problem and its line ID.
  3. Change one sentence, then make a short new sample using options your account actually supports.
  4. Listen to the old and new versions at the same playback level. Select the version that conveys the intended information clearly.
  5. If using an audio editor to assemble takes, listen across both joins. Do not accept a corrected word that introduces an abrupt change in tone.
  6. Listen once to the full export without looking at the script, then compare it against the approved text.

Keep rejected takes until the edit is accepted so you can explain why a line changed. A filename such as L03-option-b is more useful than final-final-new.

Keep a cost and stop rule

Record credits or usage displayed for each attempt and count only takes you would actually use. A short script is not a guarantee of free generation or commercial permission. Consult current ElevenLabs plans before spending; this guide does not quote a price or grant voice rights.

Set an experimental limit, such as three alternatives for a difficult line. If none is clear, rewrite the sentence or record it yourself instead of regenerating indefinitely. Plan roughly 30 minutes for the first short review session, excluding account setup; this is an estimate.

The method succeeds when another listener can repeat the names, time and next action correctly, and the final transcript matches the accepted recording. For the broader production workflow, see our Thai voiceover guide. Product and plan pages were inspected on 2026-09-14; generation, Thai pronunciation, editing joins and account entitlements were not tested.
