Check plan rights, generation charges and web-only Agent limits before moving a video workflow.

ElevenLabs announced Studio 4.0 on 21 September 2026. The update brings video, image, voice, music and sound-effect generation into the ElevenCreative timeline, where a user can edit clips, captions and audio before export. This is the provider's launch description, not a workflow we have tested. Launch announcement

What is actually new

The announcement describes a rebuilt timeline with frame-level zoom, clip snapping and synchronized clips. Captions can be split, merged and corrected on the timeline. Studio Agent can draft a first cut, place generated assets and respond to later edits, while the user can take manual control at any point.

That combination may reduce file transfers between separate generators and an editor. It does not remove the need to review captions, timing, rights or factual claims in generated media.

Check access and cost before moving a project

The Studio documentation says Studio Agent is available on all plans but currently works on the web only, with no API access. Agent chat is billed by token consumption, while speech, image, music, sound effects and video use their standard generation rates. Commercial-use rights depend on the subscription plan. Free-plan video exports carry a watermark.

Those conditions matter more than the headline if you produce client work. Open the subscription page in your own account and estimate one short draft before moving a long timeline. PickByTask has not measured Studio 4.0 costs or playback performance.

A small first check

Use a fictional 15-second product teaser. Prepare one shot, one voice line, one caption and one sound effect. Before generation, write four acceptance checks: caption text matches the script, audio starts at the intended frame, the product name remains correct and the export has the expected watermark or rights state. This is a suggested evaluation, not a completed test.

Keep the source brief and exported file together. If a generation misses one requirement, correct only that element and compare credit use before rebuilding the whole sequence.
