Build a source-linked decision log in Taskade

Create a compact Taskade decision log with evidence links, named owners, review dates, a worked sample and a manual fallback.

This tutorial creates a small register for decisions that teams need to revisit. Taskade can organise projects, structured fields, multiple views and version history. It cannot prove that evidence is complete, approve a decision, resolve a conflict of interest or replace the accountable owner.

Taskade currently describes projects for tasks, documents and workspace data, multiple project views, custom fields and version history. Its product and pricing pages separate limits by plan, so check current users, storage, credits and history before rollout. Taskade · Pricing

Start with eight fields

Use decision ID, question, decision, evidence links, alternatives considered, accountable owner, decision date and review date. Add a status such as proposed, approved, superseded or withdrawn. Avoid copying sensitive source material when a permission-controlled link is enough. Allow 45–60 minutes to build and test the first view.

Use this bounded drafting prompt

Use only the supplied meeting note and evidence links.
Draft one decision-log row with QUESTION, DECISION, EVIDENCE, ALTERNATIVES,
OWNER, DECISION DATE, REVIEW DATE and STATUS.
Do not invent approval, consensus, evidence, dates, risk acceptance or completed work.
Mark missing fields NEEDS OWNER CONFIRMATION and conflicting sources CONFLICT.

Build and review the log

  1. Assign an immutable ID before discussing the wording.
  2. State the question and decision separately.
  3. Link each reason to a dated source that permitted readers can open.
  4. Name one accountable owner and record who approved the decision.
  5. Set a review trigger or date instead of treating the decision as permanent.
  6. Preserve superseded rows and point them to the replacement decision.

Worked fictional sample

Decision D-014 asks which room hosts a Saturday workshop. The approved decision selects Room B because the dated capacity sheet lists 24 seats and the organiser confirmed 18 registrations. The owner is Mali and the review date is Friday at noon. The row must not claim accessibility, equipment availability or unanimous agreement unless separate evidence supports those facts.

The log passes when each approved row has an owner, date, accessible evidence and review trigger; proposed decisions remain visibly unapproved; and superseded decisions keep their history.

Recover without Taskade

Use a shared table with the same eight fields and restrict edit access. Export a dated copy after important approvals. If evidence links break or participants dispute the wording, return the row to proposed and ask the accountable owner to resolve it.
