A structured starting point

The AI Essentials 2026 course page lists six beginner lessons, a one-hour duration and a 15-question certification test. Its outline covers communicating an idea, creating visuals and copy, refining the result and making interactive work. The displayed duration is Canva's estimate, not a measured completion time from us.

Turn a lesson into a small result

Our suggestion: bring one fictional event brief and make a single announcement card. Compare the generated wording with your original names, date and venue. Save the first version and the corrected version so you can identify what your editing improved.

If you are stuck for a project, that is enough to begin; you do not need to design a whole campaign. Our Canva event-sign guide provides a separate practical exercise.

Check learning access and product access separately

Free training does not establish that every AI feature or chosen design asset is free in your account. Check the allowance shown when trying an exercise, and verify the lesson language before committing your time. PickByTask has inspected the announcement and course outline, but has not completed the lessons or certification test.

Sources checked 16 September 2026; the course page shows an update dated 14 September.
