Short answer: Use a transcript to locate decisions, then turn only confirmed commitments into tasks. A fluent summary is not enough: every action needs an owner, a due date or an explicit 'not agreed', and a way to find the original discussion.

A concrete example
Try a short fictional meeting: Maya will send a revised quote on Friday; Arun says a launch next month might be possible. The action list should contain Maya's commitment. Arun's comment belongs under open questions, not as a promised launch date.
This is a suggested exercise, not a recorded product test. It describes the result to aim for; it does not claim that every listed tool can complete every step.
Prepare these inputs
Prepare a recording you are allowed to process, a speaker list and a blank table with action, owner, due date, source timestamp and confirmation. For an initial trial, read a made-up meeting aloud rather than uploading a real client call.
Visit Fireflies.ai ↗Build it in this order
- Transcribe the sample and correct names, dates and negations while listening to the relevant audio.
- Extract decisions separately from suggestions. Ask for a timestamp beside each proposed task.
- Send the short list to the participants for confirmation before copying it into the team's task system.
Check the result
- 'We might' and 'we will' remain different in the final notes.
- Unclear speech is flagged, and no person is assigned work solely because a speaker label was guessed.
- Each confirmed task can be traced to the discussion and understood without reading the entire transcript.
If the result fails
If a passage is inaudible, ask the relevant participant to confirm it. Keep the task unassigned until then. If the summary invents a deadline, remove it and write 'date not agreed' rather than choosing a plausible date.
Visit Krisp ↗Time and cost to watch
Track recording minutes, time correcting speaker names and time spent confirming the list. If a short meeting needs extensive repair, a shared written decision note may be the cheaper routine.
Tools worth comparing
Compare Fireflies.ai and Krisp with the same permitted sample. Focus on whether the transcript and resulting notes reduce your correction work. Check recording permissions and the actual plan limits before processing team meetings.
